DUPE LIST II: BPAMC Drugstore Dupes

For those of you that are new to Beauty Products Are My Cardio when I started my Instagram I ran a series called Splurge VS Steal. Who doesn’t love a good beauty steal right??!!?? Call it splurge vs steal, drugstore dupes or just good ole dupes, being able to save money on a product that works just as well (sometimes better) than an expensive one is a win in my book.

So I thought it would be fun to move this series over to my blog. Its now called DUPE List! See my first Dupe List here

So lets get started on DUPE LIST II!!!!

Drug Store Dupes - Colourpop Avenue

Drugstore Dupes - Colourpop Avenue

ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip in Shade Avenue: $6 – Shop Here

Giorgio Armani Beauty Lip Maestro in Shade 201: $38 – Shop Here

ColourPop is on my top lip and Armani is on the bottom. Can you see the difference? I couldn’t lol! Both of these lippies are a matte finish and extremely comfortable on the lips and lasted throughout the day.

Palladio Beauty Baked Bronzer in shade Pacific Tan: $10 Shop Here

Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Bronzer in shade Golden Days: $6 Shop Here

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer in shade Luminous Bronze Light: $24 travel size $50 regular size. Shop Here and Here

I’m just getting into Hourglass and picked up the travel size to try it out during a Nordstrom sale. I do enjoy this bronzer however I like it better mixed with other colors because it tends to be a bit orange on me. These two drugstore bronzers are FABULOUS! They offer the same type of look with that touch of shimmer not glitter to accentuate your cheekbones!

Drugstore Dupes - Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara

Rimmel Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara: $5.99 Shop Here

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara: $23.00 Shop Here

I saw this on Pinterest (find me here) as I love looking for new dupes! I also love and prefer drugstore mascaras over highend mascara but this one just did not do it for me in comparison. I love the way better than sex mascara performs but I get TONS of fall out so I was hoping for the Rimmel to be a fab dupe. Its nice do not get me wrong but I don’t know if its an exact dupe.  I still wanted to add this because Mascara is not one size fits all and I have tons of blogger friends that love both of these!

Drugstore Dupes - Elf Matte Lip Crayons

Elf Matte Lip Crayons: $3 Shop Here

Fiona Stiles Matte Lip Crayons: $16 Shop Here

This is more of a same product type of dupe. What I own I do not have exact color dupes but both of these products are the same concept. A Matte Lip Crayon that offers great pigment in a matte finish. Fiona Stiles formula is SUPER CREAMY and I love that in a matte lip product. Elfs crayon is not near as creamy however it packs on pigment and for $3 they are worth it. I just use my MAC prep and prime lip before applying the Elf ones and it provides that extra moisture… I pretty much use the prep and prime before I apply anything now on my lips. I am obsessed but we will not get off topic LOL

Drugstore Dupes - MAC Lady Danger - NYX Pure Red - Red Lipstick

Drugstore Dupes - MAC Lady Danger - NYX Pure Red - Red Lipstick

NYX Matte Lipstick in Shade Pure Red: $5.99 Shop Here

MAC Matte Finish Lipstick in Shade Lady Danger $17 Shop Here

Most people know MAC is my jam. I love MAC products and have since I was 16. They just work for me period.  I understand not everyone has this budget or may just choose not to buy certain brands. You will always find MAC dupes here bc I own a ton of MAC! Lady Danger is my ALL TIME FAVORITE Red Lip to rock! I have swatched 10 in my collection you can see here) During my red swatch party I discovered this dupe. Milani Matte Passion is the first one I found but this NYX in one is another fab dupe!!!

Drugstore Dupes

Drugstore Dupes

Elf Cosmetics Shimmer Lip Gloss in shade Believe: $1 at the Dollar Store (WINNING!!!)

Nars Lip Gloss in shade Greek Holiday: $26.00 Shop Here

As you can see this is not an exact color dupe but the concept of a bronze colored shimmer lip is dupe worthy in my opinion. I love Greek Holiday by Nars.  I have bought it twice! Its the perfect nude shimmer lip gloss  that works well with so many nude lipsticks for that extra pop. When I am at the dollar store I always go to the makeup section and mine carries a huge section of Elf so when I saw this I thought it was so pretty and grabbed it. How can I not for a $1! Got home and the light bulb went off. On the lips like I said its the same concept but you can see the elf is lighter but I felt this was dupe list worthy!!!!!

Drugstore Dupes

Loreal Magic Lumi Primer: $12.99 Shop Here

BECCA Backlight Priming Filter: $38.00 Shop Here

If you want to glow on a budget look no further!!! This loreal lumi primer does just that! This also is a fab dupe for MAC Storbe Cream (original color) as it has a pink tone to it. The BECCA primer does not have a pink undertone however both give you that glow from within look.

I truly hope you enjoy this series!!  What is your favorite dupe find? What dupes would you like to see? Let me know in the comments below!

Skincare Routine Update: Kielh’s & Burt’s Bees

Its been awhile since I have posted a Skincare Routine update but if you have read my other posts here and here you know this has and is a long process for me. With my day routine pretty set, I was in search for a nighttime moisturizer and eye cream. My coworker told me about Kiehls avocado cream and said it was a must to try for hydration. My under eyes always seem so dry and it was showing up when I had my makeup on as well. I didn’t really have a solid night cream because my skin was giving me so much trouble I was using my Origins Plantscription for day and night since it was working and not causing any reactions. However with a $60 pricetag I knew I didn’t want to be doing this for both day and night as the product would run out wayyyy faster LOL!

I started to do some research on drugstore brands with cleaner ingredients aka no parabens.  I am not 100% paraben free but my face seems to get very bothered by them. I started looking up Burt’s Bees and saw they had a firming night cream and the ingredients and claims were intriguing. With a $19.99 price tag and $3.50 off ulta coupon I could not resist!

So lets get into the review on these new favs of mine!!!

Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment:

Skincare Routine - Kiehl's Avocado Eye Cream

Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado is a  moisturizing eye treatment that is packed with anti oxidants, shea butter and has avocado oil in it. Per the Kiehls website it states:

  • Gently moisturizes the delicate eye area
  • Does not migrate into eyes
  • Ophthamologist- and Dermatologist-tested
  • Highly effective natural ingredients provide daily hydration for sensitive eye area

Now I use this only at night as a treatment for hydration and will switch off some nights with a more anti-aging eye cream (been obsessing over the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery) but for me hydration is key in keeping my eyes looking younger. Its extremely creamy but tacky if that makes sense so I prefer to put it on my finger and warm it up with other finger and pat it to my under eye area instead of smearing it under my eye. Does that makes sense? LOL  This works wonders!!!! In the morning I look more refreshed and I have noticed it helps with my dark circles too (I have been getting a bit more sleep sooooo that could be it too HA!)

The eye treatment comes in two sizes 0.5 fl oz for $29.00 and 0.95fl oz for $48.00. The price tag is high I know but you only need a pea size! I bought the smaller size and have hardly made a dent in it. If you are looking for hydration this is for you!

Skincare Routine - Kiehl's Avocado Eye Cream

Burt’s Bees Renewal Firming Night Cream:

Skincare Routine - Burt's Bees Night Cream

Burt’s Bees Renewal Firming Night Cream is a thick but non greasy night moisturizer that has Hibiscus and Apple Rejuvenating Complex in it for more plump and firmer looking skin in the morning.  Per Ultas website it states:

  • Face cream infused with wrinkle smoothing white hibiscus
  • Contains Intensively Hydrating apple, the Hibiscus and Apple Complex locks moisture inside the skin to plump up cells
  • Immediately after use, skin appears smoother and hydrated

Again this is thick but its not heavy or greasy feeling.  It gives you a ton of hydration which I personally need especially in the winter months here in Chicago. Just like the eye cream you do not need a lot for this to work. Maybe just a little bit more than a size of a quarter is all you need. I maybe bought this 3 months ago and I just am running out now.  The smell is very nice due to the apple and hibiscus but its not powerful and the jar is glass which I love. It gives it a more luxurious feeling even though it only cost $19.00. I love the way this makes my skin look and feel and best part it did not cause any redness or breakouts. I will be trying the day cream from this line since I love this so much. You know I am always looking for beauty bargains lol! So stay tuned! The renewal line comes with a slew of other goodies like eye cream, face wash ect so I would most certainly recommend this line if you are looking for a good yet affordable anti aging regimen

Seoul Mamas: Sheet Masks Review

Seoul Mamas mission is to ” hydrate and soften your skin; to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles; and provide intense hydration to improve overall skin tone” This is what we all want right?  If you are looking for sheet masks that do just that for your skin, look no further.

In case you are new to this Korean beauty product, a sheet mask is a simple and easy way to treat your skins needs. You place the mask on your face and leave it on for 10-20 min while you sit back and relax. When you are done you take it off and throw it away. That’s it!! No mess of the mask getting all over your skin, on your hands or on your face towels. This is the exact reason why I love sheet masks so much. No mess and no fuss!

Sheet Masks

Sheet Masks

The Seoul Mamas Sheet Masks are made from 100% bamboo material and the ingredients for the serum are:

  • Caviar extract (filled with vitamins and minerals)
  • Hyaluronic acid (one of the biggest trends in skincare right now because it works!)
  • Apple and wild cherry fruit extract (filled with vitamin C and antioxidants)
  • Chamomile flower (helps with dark spots from sun damage)

A couple things they are NOT made with are Parabens and Sulfates which is a huge plus in my book. I am not 100% paraben free as I have discussed in previous skin care posts however I do believe parabens are a trigger for my redness & breakouts in my skin.

Sheet Masks

You can find the sheet masks on Seoul’s website here. They are sold for $8.00 per sheet mask (you all know I love a beauty product that is $10 or less)  or a box of 5 for $35, which is a great deal. The packaging is beautiful and sturdy and the sheet masks works. They have hydrated my skin and left my skin texture looking smoother and younger.

Do you want a chance to win a pack of 5 for yourself? There will be two winners!!

The rules for the giveaway are simple:

  • Must be following me on Instagram
  • Tag a friend on the picture posted on my instagram page
  • In the comments below tell me why you want to win
  • Giveaway will end 12/6 at 5pm CST

That is it!!! Good Luck!!!
