Palladio Beauty I’m Blushing Review and Swatches

I am all about cheek products, they are my ultimate weakness. So when I received the new Palladio Beauty I’m Blushing & I’m Glowing stick I was ecstatic. Products like this make life easier. They can be used as a lip or cheek stain and the glow stick can be used multiple ways as well. Both are very creamy, pigmented and blend easily.  Even though they are bigger you can easily use some of your favorite beauty tools to apply to lips, brow bone, above the lip ect. It just depends what you want to use each product for.

Product Info: (Click shade names to shop)

  • They are $8 and I believe this is a beauty bargain due to the fact that they are a multitask product  and perform well!
  • I’m Blushing comes in 4 shades (Precious, Darling, Dainty, Lovely)
  • I’m Glowing comes in 3 shades (Limelight, VIP, Stunner)

Swatches Blended:

Palladio Beauty I'm Blushing - Palladio Beauty I'm Glowing

Would I recommend these products? Yes! I love a good cream based product as they keep my skin looking dewy and fresh. They have strong pigment and blend very well because of their creaminess. Once blended they did loose some pigmentation and the glow was not as strong but that did not bother me because you can easily build the product to your liking! Overall I think these are a fun way to try out cream products without breaking the bank!!

Have you tried either of these? Would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.

How to Blog on a Budget: By a Beauty Blogger

If you are already a beauty blogger or aspiring to become one but not sure how to stay current with all the beauty trends on a budget look no further. I am going to give you some tips and tricks you need to know how to blog on a budget and keep your Instagram up to date! Beauty Blogging is already filled with a ton of pressure but this should not be one of them nor does it have to be.

Having two kids at home under the age of 3, my husband and I are always on a budget and looking for ways to save and or stretch our dollar. I just don’t always have the funds to buy the most up to date beauty products to review for my readers. Now I know you may be thinking “but you are getting current PR Samples sent to you ect” and although this is true, I started out just like you! I always considered my makeup collection to be on the larger side but when I started to blog I realized my collection was small in comparison to others.

I had to remind myself some bloggers are:

  • Getting PR Samples / Sponsored work
  • Been collecting beauty products longer than me
  • Have different budgets than me
  • Have larger incomes than me
  • Have different interests in products than me

I did not let the differences I saw put pressure on my blog style, instead I got creative and stayed true to me. Which in turn allows me to be active multiple times a day on Instagram and to be able to write a new blog post at least once a week.

1.Work with what you have already:  If blogging is on your mind you must be into beauty products which means you have a collection to work with (regardless of the size!) and have tons of knowledge on them to review for your blog!!! You just need to be creative with what you already own

  • To start take single shots of all your products. This will give you more content to post on Instagram.  I know you will see pictures with multiple products but maybe you have one blush that is your favorite. Just show case that one with a pretty necklace, silk scarf or a creative close up shot and tell us why you love it!!!
  • Take group shots of specific products (blush, mascara, lipsticks, bronzers, palettes, your brushes)
  • Use colors!!! Get creative here… look at all the packaging in your collection. Do you see a ton of black? Maybe Gold? Put those together and take a picture!
  • Do you have a must have combo of blush and bronzer? Or a favorite Lipstick and gloss you always wear? Think about these combos and write them down. Then take pictures and talk about them to your readers for a fun blog post!
  • Do you tend to buy pink lippies? Get them in one shot and take a picture and then review each one.
  • I did not buy a camera. I used my I phone 6plus and still do
  • I did not buy lights to start out. I used natural lighting with a white lid from a storage container. (Read my first blogging tip post on how to grow a following here)
  • Set a budget for a monthly beauty purchase.
  • Don’t forget about your skincare / hair routines

2. Monthly Subscriptions: There are tons out there to choose from as low as $10 a month to give you products/content to work with each month. This will give you new products each month to review, get fab product shots,  as well as reviewing the subscription service each month on your blog!

3. Free Samples:  Yes brands give out samples!!

  • If you are in the market for a new foundation you can always request samples at your favorite brands counter. I recently did this with MAC and testing out the Studio Fix Fluid.
  • Do your research: I discovered Mario Badescu gives out free skin analysis and samples which allowed me to write this blog post for free!
  • Head over to Sephora and Nordstrom and just ask 🙂

4. Contact brands for PR: You may be thinking “I don’t have a large following!”  That does not matter.  I received my first PR at 1K followers. How? I reached out directly to them.

  • Brands love bloggers bc we are free marketing
  • Sell yourself
  • Be professional
  • Remember the worst case scenario is they say no. That’s it. Nothing else bad will happen! lol
  • (**Please let me know if you would like to see a more detailed blog post about PR outreach**)

5. Repost old photos:  GASP OMG I KNOW!!!! Pictures posted just once are a waste to me. We work so hard to get these beautiful shots for them to just be used once? Nope not me! Dont let your instagram suffer with limited posts because of these things. Take a picture that you posted 6-8 weeks back and poof you have a post for the day! All of these things below get in the way and its okay! Plus sometimes your followers didn’t even see the first post

  • Life happens (busy week, personal issues ect)
  • Bad weather if using natural lighting
  • feeling not motivated that day

I truly hope reading this helps get your creative juices flowing on how to blog on a budget. Since I started I have only bought new makeup I truly wanted and have consistently talked about “non trending” products.  Remember this is suppose to be fun!

Japonesque Blush Collection: Swatches and Product Info

I have been using the Japonesque Blush in Shade 2 for almost 2 years now. I saw Manny MUA pair it with  Benefit Hoola on a video of his and I knew I had to have. Hoola and Shade 2 are just perfect together!!!! I immediately fell in love and it has since become one of my all time favorite blushes and that is saying a lot as I am a HUGE BLUSH junkie. Its my biggest makeup weakness so I have tried many! When Japonesque sent me their entire Blush Collection for review I was beyond excited and of course had great exceptions.

Their Velvet Touch Blush Collection comes in 6 shades and are $22 per blush. I find this price to be fair and reasonable as the pans are fairly large and the quality is on point!!! Super pigmented and they blend effortlessly on your cheeks and the packaging is just so fun and colorful!!

Colourpop Swatches: My first Colourpop haul

Hold the gasps ……………………….. but this is my very first Colourpop order! I know you are saying “What??!!! How can this be?” But its true and I can already tell you I am hooked! Being a beauty blogger I see Colourpop swatches daily and I swoon over them constantly. I am so happy that I finally decided to jump on the Colourpop Train.

Cheek products are my ultimate weakness so I knew I wanted to pick up a couple. I searched swatches online and when I saw wisp and might be I fell in love. But I was not prepared for how deep my love would be lol Just look at these?!

Next up are the Ultra Matte Lippies. I knew I wanted to try these as I am just breaking into liquid lipsticks and from hearing how much these are loved in the blogging world it was an easy choice. I grabbed two from the fall edit collection (Love Bug and Time Square after seeing swatches on Makeup.Just.For.Fun youtube channel ) and two classics (Avenue and Beeper) since my co- worker said they are some of her favs.

DUPE LIST: BPAMC Drugstore Dupes

For those of you that are new to Beauty Products Are My Cardio when I started my Instagram I ran a series called Splurge VS Steal. Who doesn’t love a good beauty steal right??!!?? Call it splurge vs steal, drugstore dupes or just good ole dupes, being able to save money on a product that works just as well (sometimes better) than an expensive one is a win in my book.

So I thought it would be fun to move this series over to my blog. Its now called DUPE List. I will dedicate blog posts that will consist of my finds in a list form so I can give you multiple dupes at once! (YAY!!!!!)  Below you will see my dupes from the last 9 months on Instagram along with some new ones. I hope you are just as excited about this new blog series as I am! I already have the 2nd one in the works so stay tuned! Lets get started!!!!

DUPE LIST:

Makeup Dupes - Becca Dupe - Becca Foundation Dupe - Drugstore Dupes

Becca Aqua Luminous Foundation: $44

Loreal Cushion Foundation: $14.99

I found the coverage, luminous finish and longevity to be almost identical.

Makeup Dupes - Hoola Dupe - Drugstore Dupes

Makeup Dupes - Hoola Dupe - Drugstore Dupes

Benefit Hoola: $29.00

NYC Sunny Bronzer: $3.62

Hoola is a holy grail bronzer of mine so for me its worth the splurge however if you are on a budget and looking for a great matte bronzer you can not go wrong with Sunny Bronzer. The colors are a bit different so please keep that in mind.

Drugstore Dupes - MAC Blankety Dupe - Makeup Dupes

MAC Blankety $17.00

Loreal Fairest Nude: $5.99

Blankety is a more pink toned brown nude where I found fairest nude to come off a bit more brown. Loreal lipsticks are fabulous (except the smell/taste) so if you are looking for an everyday nude on a budget this is the shade to look into. This has also been said to be a dupe for MAC’s HoneyLove but I found it to be a bit closer to Blankety

Drugstore Dupes - Makeup Revolution Shimmer Brick - Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick

Bobbi Brown: $46.00

Makeup Revolution: $7.00

Bobbi Brown is noticeably darker in color but the concept of a fun shimmer brick highlight to use in multiple ways is the same. Bobbi Brown offers a color range of the shimmer bricks and I have a few and love them however you can not go wrong at all with Makeup Revolution!

Makeup Dupes - Nars Multiple - Nars Dupe - Drugstore Dupes

Nars Multiple Stick: $39.00

Wet N Wild all in one highlight stick: $3.99

I can not tell you how excited I was to discover this dupe. With the shades being almost identical to the formula being pretty darn good for $3.99. They are not any where as creamy as Nars but they are good for $3.99

Makeup Dupes - NYX Gotcha Covered - Tarte Concealer Dupe - Drugstore Dupes

These two concealers are so identical they have the same ingredients except for 2!!!  The NYX Gotcha covered concealer is AMAZING. Its one of my Ride or Die products (see my full list here)

Makeup Dupes - Makeup Revolution - Tarte Hella Dupe - Drugstore Dupes

Makeup Revolution – The One For All: $5.00

Tarte: Hella: $20.00

Formula is different as the Tarte is not sticky and is very comfortable on the lips but color match is almost identical!

Makeup Dupes - Nail Polish Dupes - Just Nothing Dupe - Drugstore Dupes

All I can say is the Christian Louboutin polish chipped before the Wet N Wild one.

Makeup Dupes - Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Dupe - Eyeshadow Primer - Drugstore Dupes

Urban Decay Primer: $20.00

Wet N Wild Primer: $4.69

Read my blog post  here with swatches

Drugstore Dupes - Rockateur Dupe - Japonesque Blush Shade 2

Wet N Wild new formula blushes are amazing! Drugstore price with highend results. All three of these blushes are fabulous however Wet N Wild stepped up the game. You need them in your collection!

Drugstore Dupes - Covergirl Lash Blast - They're Real Dupe

All I can say here is Lashblast is my Holy Grail mascara and if Benefit’s Bad Gal Lash and They’re Real had a baby it would be Lash Blast.

Drugstore Dupes - IT Cosmetics Dupe - Milani Dupes

It Cosmetics Brow Power Lift Pencil: $24.00

Milani Brow & Eye Highlights: $6.99

The Milani comes in three different shades but this was the closest to the IT Cosmetics one that only comes in one shade. I prefer the shades to the IT Cosmetics for my skin tone however if you can find a Milani Brow & Eye Highlight that fits your skin tone its a fabulous product!

Drugstore Dupes - Makeup Dupes - MAC Lady Danger Dupe

MAC lipsticks are by far my favorite lipsticks however Milani’s matte lipsticks are up there for me. They are just as comfortable, long wearing and do not have a funky smell or taste (big deal breaker for me with lipstick) Matte Passion is honestly the best dupe I have discovered because its almost identical.

Drugstore Dupes - MAC fix plus dupe - Elf Makeup Spray

MAC Fix + Spray: $23/12

Elf Makeup Spray: $3

The Elf one has a smell that is hard for me to get past. It provides hydration well and works but because of the smell I do not use that often.

Drugstore Dupes - MAC Pretty Please Dupe - Makeup Dupes

MAC Pretty Please: $17

Revlon Sky Line Pink: $4.99

I am bias with Pretty Please it was the shade I wore on my wedding day lol and its the perfect pink for me but in all honesty if you are looking for a pretty pink lipstick that shimmers and dont want to break the bank the Revlon one is going work!

Makeup Dupes - Drugstore Dupes - Dr Brandt Pores No More Dupe

Dr Brandt: $45.00

Catrice: $7.99

Both keep you matte, refine your pores and keep oil at bay. Dr. Brandt does have a nude color to the primer where the Catrice Primer is white

Drugstore Dupes - Makeup Dupes - Clinique Chubby Stick Dupe

Drugstore Dupes - Makeup Dupes - Clinique Chubby Stick Dupe

Clinique Chubby Stick: $17.00

Revlon Jumbo Gloss Balm: $8.99

Some of the shades are not an exact match as you can see but the idea behind this glossy tinted balm are the same. So if you can find a shade you love that is less expensive you cant go wrong with the Revlon Balm!

I truly hope you enjoy this new series  DUPE LIST.  What is your favorite dupe find? What dupes would you like to see? Let me know in the comments below!

RCMA No Color Powder: Review and Information

The Hype is real. WOW the hype is real. When I received the RCMA No Color Powder from Frends Beauty I was hesitant to be honest. I have seen, read and watched everything about this powder but I try not to fall into too many beauty trends at once.  Before I started to use it I went back and watched Jaclyn Hill’s video on baking with this powder (which is a great instructional video FYI) and I decided I wanted to try it as a setting powder under my eyes and my t-zone first.

RCMA No Color Powder

RCMA No Color Powder

This RCMA no color powder is now my go to as an under eye setting powder as it has stopped every concealer I have tried with it from creasing. I also set my T- Zone with it and it combats my oil throughout the day. In terms of baking its also a winner. It brushes off easy and does not leave any white residue on my face. Some makeup brushes I have used with it are my Real Techniques Miracle Sponge and my Morphe M554 brush to set under my eyes, My Elf Contouring Brush to make my contour line more sharp and my MAC Brush to wipe away for baking.

RCMA No Color Powder

RCMA No Color Powder

I know the packaging is nothing glamorous but I actually appreciate the simplicity and no fuss about it. I simply take the cap off and pour a little powder in the cap and then dip in whatever tool I am using in the cap and it has worked out well. I have also seen multiple bloggers take a used up powder container they have and place some powder in there if the packaging does not fit your needs.

This powder can be found at Frends Beauty for $12.00 but when you sign up for Frends with Benefits discount program you get 10% off EVERY order. Yes every order! How fabulous is that?!! All customers worldwide are eligible to join for free and they offer a pro and non pro discount program. Click here to learn more!

Below is an amazing chart from Frendsbeauty.com that helps you find a face powder that they have in stock that will work best with your skintone.

Have you tried the RCMA No Color Powder? I would love to hear your what your experience has been with it in the comments below. If you have been thinking about it I would most certainly recommend trying it!

Real Techniques Miracle Sculpting Sponge

Real Techniques has done it again!!! For $5.99 this is a beauty tool you need in your collection. I am a huge fan of the original Real Techniques sponge so it was not a surprise when I fell in love with this one. So what is it exactly and what does it do? The Real Techniques Miracle Sculpting Sponge is for Highlighting and Contouring. It can be used damp for a dewy glow or dry for a more full coverage finish and has a large and small flat edge.

Real Techniques Miracle Sculpting Sponge

Per the Ulta Website:

Features:

  • Small side for precision highlighting
  • Large side for controlled contouring
  • Latex free
  • Replace every 1-3 months
  • Ideal for powders, creams, and liquids

Six surfaces to complete your sculpt:

  • 2 flat edges to apply
  • 2 rounded sides to blend
  • 2 tapered ends for precision application

I personally love it for a liquid highlight. The small flat edge helps with precise application and it keeps my hands clean (I usually apply liquid highlighter with my fingers). The small tip is also fabulous for brow bone and upper lip highlight.

Real Techniques Miracle Sculpting Sponge

Real Techniques Miracle Sculpting Sponge

In terms of the large flat edge side I found this most useful for blending my liquid contour as opposed to blending with my contour brushes. I have also used it to help blend bronzer when my line is too strong after applying with a brush.

Do I recommend you try this new Real Techniques Sponge? Yes!! This is a Fab Find that is $10 or less for sure! Have you tried this new RT sponge? Would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.
