Its been awhile since I have posted a Skincare Routine update but if you have read my other posts here and here you know this has and is a long process for me. With my day routine pretty set, I was in search for a nighttime moisturizer and eye cream. My coworker told me about Kiehls avocado cream and said it was a must to try for hydration. My under eyes always seem so dry and it was showing up when I had my makeup on as well. I didn’t really have a solid night cream because my skin was giving me so much trouble I was using my Origins Plantscription for day and night since it was working and not causing any reactions. However with a $60 pricetag I knew I didn’t want to be doing this for both day and night as the product would run out wayyyy faster LOL!
I started to do some research on drugstore brands with cleaner ingredients aka no parabens. I am not 100% paraben free but my face seems to get very bothered by them. I started looking up Burt’s Bees and saw they had a firming night cream and the ingredients and claims were intriguing. With a $19.99 price tag and $3.50 off ulta coupon I could not resist!
So lets get into the review on these new favs of mine!!!
Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado is a moisturizing eye treatment that is packed with anti oxidants, shea butter and has avocado oil in it. Per the Kiehls website it states:
- Gently moisturizes the delicate eye area
- Does not migrate into eyes
- Ophthamologist- and Dermatologist-tested
- Highly effective natural ingredients provide daily hydration for sensitive eye area
Now I use this only at night as a treatment for hydration and will switch off some nights with a more anti-aging eye cream (been obsessing over the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery) but for me hydration is key in keeping my eyes looking younger. Its extremely creamy but tacky if that makes sense so I prefer to put it on my finger and warm it up with other finger and pat it to my under eye area instead of smearing it under my eye. Does that makes sense? LOL This works wonders!!!! In the morning I look more refreshed and I have noticed it helps with my dark circles too (I have been getting a bit more sleep sooooo that could be it too HA!)
The eye treatment comes in two sizes 0.5 fl oz for $29.00 and 0.95fl oz for $48.00. The price tag is high I know but you only need a pea size! I bought the smaller size and have hardly made a dent in it. If you are looking for hydration this is for you!

Burt’s Bees Renewal Firming Night Cream is a thick but non greasy night moisturizer that has Hibiscus and Apple Rejuvenating Complex in it for more plump and firmer looking skin in the morning. Per Ultas website it states:
- Face cream infused with wrinkle smoothing white hibiscus
- Contains Intensively Hydrating apple, the Hibiscus and Apple Complex locks moisture inside the skin to plump up cells
- Immediately after use, skin appears smoother and hydrated
Again this is thick but its not heavy or greasy feeling. It gives you a ton of hydration which I personally need especially in the winter months here in Chicago. Just like the eye cream you do not need a lot for this to work. Maybe just a little bit more than a size of a quarter is all you need. I maybe bought this 3 months ago and I just am running out now. The smell is very nice due to the apple and hibiscus but its not powerful and the jar is glass which I love. It gives it a more luxurious feeling even though it only cost $19.00. I love the way this makes my skin look and feel and best part it did not cause any redness or breakouts. I will be trying the day cream from this line since I love this so much. You know I am always looking for beauty bargains lol! So stay tuned! The renewal line comes with a slew of other goodies like eye cream, face wash ect so I would most certainly recommend this line if you are looking for a good yet affordable anti aging regimen
