When it comes to beauty who doesn’t love an easy product for the woman on the go that works? Meet bare Minerals Complexion Rescue, an award winning foundation! The best of a BB Cream, CC cream and tinted moisturizer in one. When it comes to foundation, I love something light weight and easy to use. I had high hopes for this for an everyday product and sure enough, I love it!
The foundation is packed with Marine botanicals which will help replenish thirsty and dull skin. Even though its hydrating and can be described as a tinted moisturizer, I still use a moisturizer before I apply it. If you are new here, I love to be hydrated and dewy. For me this covered just enough to be absolutely perfect for everyday wear. My skin looks put together if that makes sense. Just enough coverage with a radiant complexion to give you a youthful glow! Not too sheer and not medium coverage, the best way to describe it is light coverage. Perfect to even out your skin tone. I set my T Zone in my face (forehead, nose area and chin) with powder to control my shine. Even though this is a dewy foundation I still like to combat some shine where I get oily.
SWATCHES: (Top to Bottom)
Bare Minerals sent two shades to try and per the descriptions on Ulta’s Website I felt the two shades would be best and honestly both work for me!
Wheat 4.5: medium skin tones with neutral undertones
Bamboo 5.5: light to medium skin tones with warm to neutral undertones
When it comes to everyday makeup I need something simple and efficient. It is easy to understand how this foundation won awards from Allure and Glamour magazines and loved by many women! SPF built in, to evening out your skin tone along with creating a radiant glow the bare Minerals Complexion Rescue foundation is a keeper for me!

I had the pleasure of attending the bareMinerals Cocktails and Complexions event here in Chicago last week. With so many new goodies I wanted to give you the breakdown. The focus was their new Bare Pro 16 hour full coverage concealer. But of course there is the Gen Nude Blushes and Lip Lacquers! BareMinerals is a brand fast approaching the Holy Grail train for me. The products are reliable, the shade ranges are inclusive and offer a natural approach to makeup. Natural everyday makeup is more my lane and when I need to amp it up I can but having products that work and are reliable is my number one goal. Not just as a beauty blogger but as a beauty consumer.

I had the pleasure to attend the Complexions & Cocktails event hosted by Bare Minerals to get a first look at their NEW BarePro Matte Foundation. This event kicked off here in Chicago at the very trendy and stylish Cindy’s Rooftop inside the Chicago Athletic Hotel. The event will be traveling to other states so stay tuned! While we sipped cocktails and ate delicious food we learned all about the NEW BarePro Performance Liquid Foundation and got to preview other Bare Minerals products and new releases. This foundation comes with benefits that has me asking myself, can this be the best matte foundation?
The Bare Minerals Makeup artists were on hand to give all the guests a personal shade match while we sipped on our cocktails. I was very impressed with how fast the Makeup Artist found my shade. Shade 6 matched perfectly to my neck (the best way to find your match!). Once we were matched we were able to go over to what was my version of a candy store to receive our foundation with brush which was made for the foundation along with other Bare Mineral Goodies to try.
Per the Ulta Website: The bareMinerals Luxe Performance Brush is the perfect partner for the creamy texture of barePro Liquid Foundation. Its dense, tapered fibers mimic the shape of your fingertips to provide smooth, flawless coverage, while the compact head size allows for fast and easy blending around hard to reach areas like the nose and eyes.
Lets talk about the claims of this magical matte foundation:
Good For Your Skin
24 Hour Wear
Naturally Matte Finish
Non Chemical SPF 20
Available in 30 Shades
Sounds amazing right? The way they are able to have a naturally matte finish is from the bamboo stem plant extract along with papaya enzymes that improve skins texture over time. The foundation is “powered by Mineral Lock™ Long-Wear Technology that blends mineral pigments with lipids naturally found in skin to lock in transfer-resistant, color-true coverage” Aside from all of this its heat, water, humidity and sweat resistant which is something we need for Chicago Summers lol
In the next couple weeks I will be testing out the foundation so please stay tuned! I did play around with it the other day and to my surprise when I pumped it on my hand (yes it has a pump!! winner right there!) it was very thin and creamy and it covered my redness immediately. Needless to say I am very excited and intrigued by this foundation.
I received a ton of questions on Instagram about my makeup for the event so I wanted to give you a breakdown of the products I used. I kept my makeup minimal with a bold red lip. I knew I did not want to do a full coverage foundation as I wanted to be matched as accurate as possible. I was actually very pleased with the outcome and it lasted despite the fact that I forgot to put on primer. Oops!
