Nothing new over here when a new MAC product comes across my testing table I get excited. Like really really really excited. When I was scrolling through my Instagram feed last year and saw MAC Water Weight Concealer I was like a kid in candy shop. As soon as it came out I purchased it! Its safe to say I am a self pro claimed concealer junkie. Who doesn’t want to find the perfect product? With so many shades, finishes and different coverage options on the market its hard to find the right one for you. Concealers may have a perfect shade match, a great finish but the coverage is not enough or it can be perfect coverage but its too matte or dewy. At the end of the day concealer can be tricky. Some how MAC has put Magic into a bottle and called in Concealer.
MAC Water Weight Concealer:
This concealer has many claims that would make anyone say “Okkkkkkk MAC” but I am here to tell you they are true! The MAC water weight concealer is an “ultra-fluid formula with medium-full buildable coverage and a satin finish. While it gently diffuses the appearance of imperfections and hydrates, PGA Moisture Fusion Complex and Glycine soja protein protects skin from external elements” – Ulta Beauty Website
8 hour wear
Reduces appearance of undereye circles, dark spots and discolouration
I have used and tried so many different concealers however the MAC Water Weight Concealer is special. Its so thin and does not crease yet has amazing coverage. It feels like you have nothing on under your eyes. Even after building up the coverage it did not cake or crease and guess what? I did NOT set it with a powder. MAGIC I tell you, just pure magic! The finish is flawless. Its not too matte and not too dewy. It claims it is a satin finish and I agree. Its very natural looking without looking like you have anything on. I bought this product soon after it was launched and was using it everyday. MAC then graciously sent me a few shades with the new Water Weight powder as well. I jumped for joy knowing I now had a back up set and ready to go! lol
As you can see in the below picture the concealer is a dropper and its literally like water coming out. All I did was take the dropper and take it to my under eyes or on my hand and apply with my fingers. When I say a little goes a long way, I truly mean a little goes a long way. The only way I have blended this out is with my beauty blender (shop it HERE) and it just comes out flawless. No setting with powder and no settling into my fine lines.
Have you tried this concealer? Let me know your thoughts! If you are into dewy concealers you can see all my favs HERE.

With most beauty products we are always on the hunt for that perfect product that will work like magic. Concealer is probably one that is high on the list if you ask most women. Just like foundation, concealer can be very personal. Whether you like dewy concealers, matte concealers, full coverage or just enough to get you through the day it’s a preference. My preference is a dewy concealer that has medium to full coverage but some days I prefer light coverage. I also want the concealer shade to be pretty similar to my skin color. Don’t get me wrong I like a brightening look but not for everyday. Many concealers that will give you a more dewy look will also be listed as a natural or satin finish.
In the past year I have tried so so so many concealers including Tarte Shape Tape that has a cult following however it was too matte and too thick for me. It has fantastic coverage so I can see the appeal 100%, it just was not for me. My go to concealer use to be MAC Pro Longwear however it has becoming too drying under my eyes and I blame my kids and good ole aging lol. I have been wanting to give that a whirl again I am not going to lie. Maybe mixing a more matte concealer with a dewy concealer since mixing is my new go to lol but for now here are my Top Dewy Concealers that I recommend from drugstore to high end!
I have included the shade names below for your reference as well. I do want to say there is no particular order here. I use ALL of these on the regular. I would say for a more pulled together look and or event the Bye Bye Under Eye, NYX Gotcha Covered and Marc Jacobs are a go to. The others are lighter weight and I will mix them with a more full coverage concealer or use for everyday no makeup, makeup looks.

Light Coverage (I have noticed a funny smell with some. I had 4 to choose my shade but it does go away and it was not in all of mine. I prefer this for no makeup makeup days. I think this is also great for a younger person looking to have a little coverage and who is just starting with makeup)
Very Blendable and can be used for highlighting as well
