Viseart Theory Palette: Swatches & Review

It is no secret that I love a neutral eye look over anything else. I am not really into colorful eye shadows and can live my life using Bronze by MAC everyday if I had to  (see my Custom Mac Palette Here).  The Viseart Theory Palette in the shade Cashmere is what neutral eye dreams are made of! There are 6 stunning shades in this palette that can be used everyday or for a glam night out. With three matte and three shimmer shades the looks are endless!

Per the Sephora Website: “Perfect for the makeup artist, these colors are a new addition to Viseart’s range of mattes and shimmers, providing unparalleled coverage, pigment, and all-day, long-lasting color. Create a neutral eye look for day and evening looks with three mattes that range from light-to-medium tones, including one basic brow and crease shade. Use the shades for a subtle shimmery eye or for a sophisticated, satin-glow finish. Use the matte shades to fill in and shape eyebrows”

Viseart Theory Palette: Shade – Cashmere

Viseart can be found at Sephora and Muse Beauty Pro. The palette retails for $45.00. Now I know that can be a heavy price tag for some. However if you are looking to invest in a palette that can be used daily and is very versatile you wont be disappointed in this at all. They swatch beautifully as you can see below and they blend like a dream! Each shade is packed with pigment but are easy to work with. The only thing I noticed is the lightest shimmer shade had glitter fall out on me. It is not a deal breaker by any means but when I swatched it, I didn’t notice glitter but when I apply it that whats happening. Anyone else experience this?

I have oily eyelids and play around with primers a lot however the Urban Decay eye shadow primer is my Holy Grail. When I wore this palette with out my urban decay primer the eye shadow did not stay as pigmented on me through out the day. PS this happens with pretty much every other brand I have tried lol!  So make sure to not judge eye shadow quality until you use multiple primers or try all the ones you have.

Side note: a fabulous dupe for Urban Decay is the Wet N Wide Eye Shadow Primer (See Here)

Would I recommend this palette or Viseart as a whole? Yes! I am so excited to have this in my collection and look forward to some of their new launches coming out. This palette comes in 3 different shades and has 2 more launching on Sephora soon!

Some Viseart wishlist items are the Theory Palette in shade MINX and NEW Theory Highlighter, Blush & Bronzer palette in shade ABLAZE (which is coming to Sephora soon. You can sign up on the site to be alerted). Would love to hear what you think about this palette in the comments below if you have it OR  What is your go to Neutral eyeshadow palette? I have slightly become palette obsessed.

Smashbox Cover Shot Palette: Swatches & Product Details

If you have been following me for a while you know I am not a huge fan of eye shadow palettes. I know it seems crazy lol. I just find at times there are colors in a palette I wont use and then to me that is just a waste of eye shadow. Who else feels this way? I can not be the only one! Hehe. However the Smashbox Cover Shot Palette Collection offers a shade range for everyone! Whatever look you are wanting to achieve Smashbox has you covered.  From the perfect smokey eye, to everyday neutral and even to the brightest colors available there is a palette for you.

Smashbox Cover Shot Palette

Per the Smashbox Website: The collection of 7 high-impact eye shadow palettes were influenced by trends seen in their L.A. photo studio. How fun is that??!!?? Each compact, slim and travel friendly  palette offers 6 shadows and a 2 double sided base shades. These shadows are so pigmented and blend like a dream. The pigment packs a lot of punch with the brush so I found having a lighter hand worked much better for application.

Each palette is sold for $29.00. Here are the shade names

  • Metallic: Fierce foil finish (not shown)
  • Matte: high-coverage, velvety (not shown)
  • Golden Hour: Creamy, lit-from-within shades (not shown)
  • Softlight: Soft-focus, wearable shimmers
  • Smoky: Effortless and modern
  • Bold: Transformative and electrifying
  • Ablaze: Hot, desert-inspired shades

Smashbox generously sent me 4 from the collection (Bold, Ablaze, Smokey& Softlight) The two  I have fallen in love from my collection are Ablaze and Smokey. I am still getting the hang of the colors in Ablaze as these dessert inspired shades are very new to me. I am so use to either a smokey eye or more brown neutral colors.

Lets get to some swatches! I used my finger and did not have to rub hard at all. These instantly felt creamy to the touch but again I found they can be very pigmented (which is a good thing) but it took me a minute to get the hang of it with my brushes.
