When Morphe had a sale on their Elite I collection a while back I felt it was time to join in on the Morphe bandwagon and make my first purchase. I have seen so many fellow bloggers rave about the quality and of course many well known Youtubers have always suggested Morphe brushes. I was still not sure what to expect but knew I wanted to find out for myself! After shopping the Elite I Collection Sale I knew I wanted to venture out. I added the M439 Duluxe Buffer Foundation Brush to my cart even though I have been using the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush without complaints. I thought how different can a foundation brush be but just had to try it for myself.
So do I have a preference now that I have used both? Yes!
The hype is 100% real surrounding the M439 Duluxe Buffer. This brush retails $13.99. This foundation brush allows for maximum coverage without using a ton of product. It gives you a flawless finish as it blends the product beautifully. The wider handle makes it easy to hold which is also a bonus.
As you can see the the Real Techniques brush is much smaller in size and retails for $8.99. For me it holds onto my foundation which makes me have to use 3-4 pumps as opposed to 2 pumps with the M439 Duluxe Buffer. The Real Techniques brush does give a nice finish however I now prefer the Morphe Brush for 2 reasons and believe its a great investment!
1. To preserve the amount of foundation I use
2. Overall I like the way my foundation looks with the Morphe Foundation Brush.
Does this mean I will never use this brush again? Not at all. I have found the Real Techniques brush due to its size is perfect for contouring, liquid bronzer and blushes. So I will be using this for steps in my makeup routine for smaller areas of my face.
Do you have a favorite foundation brush? Or do you have a preference? I would love to hear from you!

If you follow me on Instagram you know I have been very vocal about my skin care struggles. In the last three years I have had two children and well have gotten older so things are bound to change. Before kids my skin was a true combination (oily and dry spots) but during my pregnancies my skin was very dry, even in the summer. Living in Chicago I normally am only dry in the winter but now things seem to be all over the place. I have redness, a lot of texture, white bumps, I feel more oily than “normal” and it appears I may be experiencing some hormonal acne. Not to mention a ton of build up in my T-Zone and clogged pores. So I have officially started my skin care journey and I will be documenting it all here on my blog.
First up my face washes and exfoliating scrub. The Olay foaming face wash is a keeper. It is gentle on my skin and does not dry my skin out. The Origins checks and balances I will not be repurchasing for now as it now leaves my skin feeling very dry after where a few months ago it did not. The St. Ives apricot scrub is a staple for me. It has never caused me any issues but I have stopped using it for a few weeks to see but I truly do not think it is causing my skin any trouble.
Next up my day time moisturizer and eye cream. Ponds Crema S is beyond the most hydrating face cream I have ever used. It leaves your skin so soft and dewy. I will not be eliminating this however its too thick for the summer months as it leaves me greasy. I have placed in an order for a new moisturizer so stay tuned. Origins Gin Zing Eye Cream is on my Holy Grail beauty products list. I have never experienced so much darkness under my eyes before having my son and this stuff is like magic! Its $30.00 but you only need a little bit. I have been using the same jar for 4 months now and not even close to being done. It instantly yes I said instantly brightens your under eye area.
Possible Culprits: I am not sure if these products are true triggers or maybe mixed with other products but I have eliminated both and my skin in the last week has shown improvement. Olay regenerist serum has been my serum of choice for day and night for 10 years. What I think is happening is mixed with the Ponds its clogging my pores and causing texture. So once I discover a new day cream I will be putting this serum back in my routine. It truly lifts, firms and gives a youthful look so I am hoping for the best. The Botanics Micellar Water is on hold right now as a repurchase and here is why. After posting Micellar Water on my Instagram page I received a lot of feedback about how my followers use it. Let me tell you one size does not fit all and I LOVED reading all the feedback. What may be best is for me is to remove my makeup with Micellar Water, Wash, tone, treat and then apply moisturizer. I have been washing my face and then using the Micellar water to remove traces of dirt. This may have been the problem because even though it’s so gentle it may be causing build up. Since eliminating both and replacing them with Thayers Rose Water Toner my skin has improved. Stay tuned for my full review on this product.
Last up. My nighttime products. I adore facial oil for the winter and for my under eyes all year-long. Oil in general is just amazing for your cuticles and dry skin so I always have oil on hand. Botanics Facial Oil has been working perfect for under my eyes at night to lock in the moisture but that does not mean I am not open to new nighttime eye creams. Which ones do you use? I would love to know! The Botancis Triple Age Renewal Night Cream has been working and I do plan to repurchase because it’s very affordable but the smell is a bit strong. Here is how it is described on Ultas site: “Hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid intensely hydrates, while a blend of Vitamins A, C and E with soya protein help improve elasticity, firm and reduce the appearance of deep lines and wrinkles for younger looking skin. Active plant extract Purple Orchid contains anti-oxidents and polysaccharides to help protect and smooth the skin” In the morning my skin feels soft and smooth.
I really hope to hear your feedback, suggestions and what products you found that work for you! Let the skincare journey begin!!! #bpamcskincarejourney
When it comes to concealer we all want that perfect one but never seem to find it. Its either too thick, too dry, too thin, creases, or the wrong color match. I am not sure if I will ever find my perfect concealer but I do have some that are must haves and this one has made the list!
Fiona Stiles Full Cover Perfect Finish Concealer claims to do the following: “A buildable, full coverage concealer that flawlessly blends into the skin to hide the most stubborn imperfections with a natural finish. This lightweight, yet concentrated formula, seamlessly covers the darkest spots, blemishes and scars without caking, streaking or settling into fine lines or pores.”
So did it do what is claims to? Yes! Its full coverage and truly blends flawlessly into the skin. The packaging is a pot so I just dipped my finger in and used that to apply. It seemed weird at first because I am use to using my Real Techniques sponge or Beauty Blender but I was so impressed at how easy it applied with just my finger. On my first day testing it out I did not set it with powder and it did crease on me as most do but when I set it the next day it did not move at all!
Shades from L -R: 04 – 03 – Peach Corrector
I was sent Shades 03 ,04 and the Peach Corrector to review. You can see shade 03 is much lighter and appears more cool toned while shade 04 appears more warm. I tend to have both tones in my skin but I am definitely on the warmer side and 04 was a perfect match. According to the website my foundation shade would be 04 as well so it makes it easy to find your matches which has drawn me in to want to try the foundation. For the corrector it is peach colored and is the same consistency as the concealer. I just used my finger again and dabbed a bit on my darker parts of my under eye and then blended the concealer on top and it did make a difference with the corrector. For those that are new to color correcting peach counteracts the blueness. Orange and Peach are the opposite of blue on the color wheel, therefore the colors balance each other out.
Would I recommend this concealer? Yes! I am very impressed as it is full coverage but blends easily, very light weight and gives you a natural finish. You know how sometimes in the day light your makeup looks very noticeable? Not this concealer, even with the corrector. I have been using it every day since I received them. I am truly loving the formula and coverage. Would I recommend the Peach Corrector? Yes as long as it works with your skin tone.
What Fiona Stiles Beauty products have you tried? I would love to hear about them.
When I first heard about Mascara primers I was really not interested but when a fellow Blogger @beauty.maven posted about the Loreal Primer on her Instagram I felt a sudden urge to try it. This primer is sold at most drugstores but I found Target sold it for the cheapest at $5.99.
Per the Target.com website it states: “The perfect pair for your favorite mascara to maximize every lash look. Lightweight primer instantly creates a boosting effect, building dramatic volume and length on each lash. Conditions lashes over time for soft nourished lashes. Use with your favorite mascara to amplify any lash look. Instantly Thicker, Longer Lashes Mascara Amplifier Lash Conditioner”
Sounds amazing right?!!!? Well let me tell you…. it is!!!! So I decided to experiment and try it with 5 of my favorite mascaras.
L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara: The primer made this mascara apply much smoother with less clumps and had less fall out. Cover Girl Lash Blast: PS this is my HOLY GRAIL mascara. It goes on smooth with the primer however it really did not do anything to change the over all application or staying power. I was a bit surprised but I was also okay with this because I have no complaints to begin with. Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real: WOW this primer just took this mascara to the next level in the length department. If you have not tried this mascara you need to. Too Faced Better Than Sex: I was the most excited about this because I love this mascara but I experience so much fall out I can not wear it. Until now! I experienced no fall out with it paired with the primer.Benefit Bad Gal Lash: It goes on smooth with the primer however just like the Cover Girl Lash Blast it really did not do anything to the all around application or staying power. I have no complaints about this mascara either so this was not disappointing to me.Would I recommend this primer? YES!!! For $5.99 its worth a shot because even on the two mascaras where I did not notice a difference it still helped all 5 go on smoother. With the primer helping with clumps, fall out and making your lashes stand out even better you can’t go wrong. I am now on the hunt for more mascara primers to test out. Leave in the comments some I should try. Have you tried this primer? I would love to hear your experience with it!
It’s no surprise that I’ve fallen in love with this all in one formula! The Orly Bonder Base has been one of my holy grail nail products for years. So when I received three colors from the Orly Breathable line to review I was beyond excited. So let’s get into the product details. The polish features an advanced oxygen technology that allows oxygen and hydration to penetrate the nails. It’s packed with Argan oil, Pro vitamin B5 and Vitamin C to promote stronger and healthier nails.
The brush is very wide and thick which allows for effortless application. With the base, color and top coat all in one your at home mani/pedi just got a whole lot easier and faster! Did I mention cheaper!?! These retail for only $8.99. I did two coats because it’s what I’m use to but it was very shiny and thick with only one coat so that will be personal preference. Staying power? Its there! After a few days my nails still look fresh on both my hands and toes. Would this be something I would recommend? Yes!!! With a three in one formula, treatment feature and affordability you can not go wrong!
The three colors I received from L-R: The Antidote – Feeling Free – Love My Nails . They are available at Ulta
with 15 shades available and Orlybeauty.com with 18 shades available.
